Making Our Hot Chocolate
There are two methods to making our delicious hot chocolate
(it takes about 4 minutes):
1) Stove Top method - to make one or more cups of the same hot chocolate
- In a pot, melt the chocolate under medium-low heat with a tablespoon of milk. Use a whisk to lightly stir the chocolate into a slurry for about 2 minutes.
- Then add 8-10 ounces of any kind of milk and under medium-high heat, bring the milk to almost a boil. Stir with a whisk to mix the milk and the chocolate for about two minutes.
2) Microwave method - to make one or more cups of different types of hot chocolates
- Place each piece of chocolate into individual mugs or cups and add a tablespoon of milk.
- Heat them in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring each time until all are melted into a slurry. This should take about 2 minutes depending on your microwave.
- Then add 8-10 ounces of any kind of milk to each cup or mug.
- And again heat in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring each time until hot. This should also take about 2 minutes depending on your microwave.
PLEASE NOTE: Serve the hot chocolate "as-is". There is no need to add whip cream, marshmallows or sprinkles. Enjoy the taste of the chocolate, expanded with the milk, as you would a fine wine. Notice it's appearance, aroma and pallet and how they combine into a totally delightful experience. However, an added liquor can elevate your experience to a higher level!
PLEASE NOTE: Each piece of our chocolate is made up of 30% or more of cocoa butter (the ingredient missing from hot chocolate powders). This is what lets our chocolate be made with any kind of milk like skim milk or almond milk or even plain water. The cocoa butter in our chocolate supplies the rich creaminess to your hot chocolate.
NOTE: There is not enough heat in a cup of hot milk to completely melt a 50 gram piece of chocolate, so the chocolate should be melted first before adding the milk, as in the two methods stated above.
